PPG LO-VEL® Silica Flatting Agents

PPG LO-VEL® flatting agents comprise a comprehensive line of synthetic amorphous precipitated silica products that reduce the gloss of (or flatten) coatings, paints, varnishes, lacquers, inks and other finishes.

Since debuting in the 1960s, the PPG Lo-Vel silica product portfolio has continually expanded to meet evolving formulator demands and now covers a wide range of porosities, particle sizes and other physical properties.

Available as wax-treated and non-treated products, PPG Lo-Vel flatting agents offer maximum formulation flexibility for manufacturers of solvent-based, waterborne, clear and pigmented coatings seeking to balance desired characteristics and performance such as:
